Energy Healing...

Channeling Vortex healing energy - female hands held parallel with a white spiralling vor

A healer's power stems not from any special ability, but from maintaining the courage and awareness to embody and express the universal healing power that every human being naturally possesses.

- Eric Micha'el Leventhal

REIKI

Reiki is a Japanese word. “Rei” means "God's Wisdom or Higher Power" and Ki means "Life Force Energy". (Pronounced Ray-Key.) So, Reiki is actually "Spiritually Guided Life Force Energy” or “Universal Life Force Energy.”

We are all energy.

For those of you who may like the more science and evidence based approaches, here we go: As my reiki master once told me, “Scientifically, Reiki is the bio-photon (light) emission conducted from one organic species to another. Reiki is from the light of lights and light is science. Reiki balances the recipient’s disturbances in their body’s bio-energy field. As Albert Einstein told us back in the 1920’s, through his equation, everything, including our bodies, is composed of energy.”

It’s actually quite fascinating when you really connect to this thought. Everything in life is, on a scientific level, made up of energy. Your body is made of energy. Everyone is energy. And, as energy, we have the ability to emit and absorb energy as well.

That is the beauty and power of reiki:

You have the ability to shift and heal your own energy.

And I can help guide you.

Guided Meditations coming soon....

MEDITATION

Starting and sustaining a meditation practice is one of the key pillars in my teachings. It works for all parts of the pyramid: the mind, the body and the spirit.

The simplicity of being and quieting the mind, however, can be one of the most challenging components in the healing and expanding process. There will always be a great excuse, outstanding rationale, pressing deadline, true time constraint, physical pain or any other type of distraction to keep someone from beginning or continuing their meditation practice. I get it. I’ve been that person. Too busy to meditate and definitely someone who had more important things to do than sit down and be quiet. I was one of the hundreds of people that I’ve now met who tell me they don’t know “how-to” meditate. To that I say, B.S.

If you can breathe, you can meditate; plain and simple.

The actual sitting down and just being with yourself is where most people stop. They believe there is some right or wrong way to be still. Truthfully, that’s just your ego’s way of trying to tell you you’re no good at it before you even started. The ego also loves to try and tell you that you’ll do it wrong. Do not listen, unless you want to stay stuck in the mind that won’t stop talking and never turns off.

This is why it’s called a meditation practice. There’s no need to be perfect in your practice. We all have good days and bad days. It’s the same with meditation. You will have great experiences and seemingly not so great ones.

It’s not about judging the experience itself, but simply showing up for yourself.

Over and over and over again.

You and your practice may change over time. That’s great. Some months, I meditate every day, twice a day for 20 minutes. Other months, I may meditate for a few minutes in the morning and at night before bed. Other months are totally sporadic and inconsistent. The point is not that one is better than the other, it’s that I come back to me. I come back to the stillness and opportunity to explore within me. And you can too.
