Virtual Hypnosis: Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your BQH Session

A little preparation can make a big difference!

One of the things I love about Beyond Quantum Healing (BQH) is that you don't have to travel to my office in Noblesville, Indiana, to experience a session. We can connect through Zoom while you're in the comfort of your own home.

But when you're doing hypnosis virtually, there are a few things you'll want to think about ahead of time.

And no, you don't need to turn your bedroom into a meditation retreat or buy a bunch of special equipment!

I wanted to share some of my favorite tips to help you prepare, especially if this is your first time experiencing hypnosis.

1. Find Somewhere You Can Really Get Comfortable

You're going to be spending quite a bit of time relaxing, so this is important!

A recliner, couch, or bed can all work. Ideally, you'll want somewhere you can lean back, support your head and neck, and stay comfortable without having to constantly adjust your position.

Have a blanket nearby, even if you don't think you'll need one. Sometimes when we're lying still for a while, we get chilly.

And please don't worry about what your room looks like on camera. I don't need to see a perfectly clean house!

I'd much rather you be comfortable.

2. Make Sure You Won't Be Interrupted

This is probably one of my biggest recommendations.

If you have children, pets, a spouse, or other people at home, make arrangements so you can have some uninterrupted time.

Let everyone know you'll be unavailable for a few hours.

Put your phone on Do Not Disturb, silence unnecessary notifications, and close anything on your computer that might suddenly start making noise.

I love our pets, but a cat walking across your keyboard in the middle of hypnosis probably isn't what you had planned!

You don't need complete silence, but having a little privacy makes it easier to focus on your experience.

3. Test Your Zoom Connection Before We Begin

You don't need fancy equipment for virtual hypnosis.

You will need:

  • A computer or device with a reliable internet connection.

  • A working microphone and camera.

  • Comfortable headphones or earbuds with a microphone.

  • A charger or power source nearby.

  • A way to position your device so I can see and hear you while you're reclining.

I recommend testing your sound and camera before your appointment.

One little trick: Set your device up where you'll actually be during hypnosis, not just where you'll be sitting while we talk.

You don't want to get comfortable and then realize I can't hear you!

If our connection drops during the session, we'll follow the reconnection plan we discuss beforehand. You won't be expected to figure it out while you're relaxed.

4. Don't Show Up Hungry or Exhausted

I know life gets busy, but try to give yourself a little time before your appointment.

Eat something beforehand, drink some water, and get a good night's sleep if possible.

You don't want to spend your entire session thinking about how hungry you are, and being extremely tired may make it harder to stay engaged with the experience.

Please avoid alcohol and recreational drugs for at least 24 hours before your session. Continue taking prescribed medications as directed by your healthcare provider.

And if you're not feeling well, let me know. We can discuss whether rescheduling would be better.

5. Write Down Your Questions

This is one of my favorite parts of preparing for hypnosis!

What are you curious about?

Maybe you've wondered about past lives, relationships, your purpose, or why certain patterns keep appearing in your life.

Maybe there's something you've been carrying around for years that you'd like to understand from a different perspective.

Write those questions down!

They don't need to sound profound or spiritual. Sometimes the simplest questions are the ones that matter most to us.

And don't stress about having the perfect list. We'll have time to talk before beginning hypnosis.

6. Stop Worrying About Whether You're Doing It Right

I hear concerns about this quite a bit.

"What if I can't be hypnotized?"

"What if I don't see anything?"

"What if my mind won't stop thinking?"

First, you're not taking a test!

Hypnosis doesn't feel the same for everyone.

Some people describe seeing vivid images. Others notice feelings, thoughts, impressions, or stories developing in their imagination.

You may even feel completely aware of your surroundings.

That doesn't automatically mean you're doing something wrong.

My advice is to be curious about whatever comes forward rather than trying to force a particular experience.

And remember, you can talk to me throughout the session.

7. Give Yourself Some Time Afterward

If possible, don't schedule something immediately after your BQH session.

You may feel relaxed, thoughtful, energized, or simply ready to get on with your day.

Everyone is different.

I recommend having some water, eating if you're hungry, and giving yourself a little time to reflect.

You might want to write down a few things that stood out to you before getting back into your normal routine.

And you certainly don't need to figure out what everything means immediately.

Sometimes it's nice to revisit an experience a few days later with a fresh perspective.

8. One More Thing: You Don't Have to Believe in Past Lives

I think this is important to mention.

You can be curious about hypnosis without having a particular spiritual belief.

Some people approach BQH believing in reincarnation. Others see the imagery and experiences as symbolic or imaginative ways of exploring themselves.

You get to decide what meaning, if any, the experience holds for you.

I'm not there to tell you what you should believe or what your experience is supposed to mean.

I'm there to guide you through the process and give you room to explore.

Ready to Try Virtual BQH?

If you've been curious about past-life regression or exploring your subconscious but aren't close enough to visit my Noblesville office, virtual BQH might be something you'd enjoy learning more about.

I offer Beyond Quantum Healing both in person and through Zoom.

And if you're wondering whether you need to prepare anything special or have questions about how the session works, you're always welcome to reach out.

I hope these tips make the idea of virtual hypnosis feel a little less intimidating!
